We’re kicking off Season Seven with a subject matter expert episode and I’m delighted to introduce Sophie Wade. Sophie is a work futurist, international keynote speaker, author, and authority on Future-of-Work issues.

She has held senior management, strategy and finance roles around the world — in Asia, Europe and the U.S. — working in media, technology, and venture capital for companies such as IMG and Yahoo. With a strategy and finance focus for her first career, she assisted entrepreneurs and major corporations identify, develop, and execute strategic initiatives, build teams and ventures and create partnerships.

Sophie has a new book out, ‘Empathy Works: The Key to Competitive Advantage in the New Era of Work’, which formed the basis of our conversation, although as always, we went off on some fascinating leadership related tangents that you’re going to love listening to.

If you’re listening to this within two weeks of the episode’s release date, Sophie has kindly given us an Advance Reader Copy of her book that you can win by clicking on the book competition link in the show notes, so make sure you do that right now.

Before we get into this episode, head over to the Online Course page of my website – https://www.ben-morton.com/ – where you can sign up for my 10-4-10 Leadership Course. It’s totally free, it’s bite-sized, and it covers some of the most common leadership topics and challenges I get asked about. It also gets consistently great feedback.
